At this time of year I post my top 20 DVD rentals which I am now calling home film releases just to stay a little relevant with the evolving technology. Sadly, the movies making their way to home screens this year have been pretty bad so I could only come up with fifteen. Although this has been an off year for the home theater, there are still good ones among the many lame, loud, empty ones getting made. I’d rate all of my picks four out of five stars and have noted their DVD release dates. Again documentary filmmakers are putting out some of the best work. Here’s hoping for a better 2014!
