This blog was always in a time-lag as it is a DVD/Blu-Ray/Streaming ‘best of’ list  rather than a current theatrical film list. I always listed the films by home release date not theatrical release date which for most of the year puts the films of the previous year in the mix. For the end of the decade I have now gone back over my decade of lists and re-ordered them by year of theatrical release. Then I have looked at those lists and picked the films I found to be the most memorable of the decade as a whole. This of course is totally subjective and most likely doesn’t include films you would have included but I think it has a good mix of genres.

I have also included all of the lists by year order. I’m still adding to the 2019 one as I catch up. I’ve enjoyed doing these annual lists but may stop now since I feel like it is the right time. I’ve always liked both art house and popular films but a lot of highly rated films overall are no longer to my liking. (Action is too shaky camera fast- Art House is too slow cinema. I’m oldilocks!)

I blogged reviews of home releases from 2008-2011. I’ve done annual lists for the past decade. I think I’ve done my duty to you my friends when you ask: “What’s a good film I should I see?”
