Maxed out: “Collapse”
Crazy or a visionary, Michael Ruppert is a fascinating man to listen to in “Collapse”.
Fallen Idle: “Not the Messiah”
Monty Pythons’ Eric Idle gives us a musical interpretation of their classic film “The Life of Brian” with “Not the Messiah” and it cannot be saved.
The Good, the Bad and the Rugby: “Invictus”
Clint Eastwood’s “Invictus” misses the goal.
Ferry to head game island: “Shutter Island”
Though not an instant classic, Martin Scorcese delivers atmosphere and angst with “Shutter Island”.
Death Knocks: “The Messenger”
“The Messenger” is a sober, solid drama about soldiers who must represent Uncle Sam to the familes of fallen military.
Hungry & Hunted: “Daybreakers” & “The Road”
“Daybreakers” & “The Road” both present grim futures but ultimately fail to suprise us.
Forced accents over classic leftovers: “Nine”
“Nine” puts dance numbers before angst and like Guido has fun but rings hollow.
Not abiding so well: “Crazy Heart”
“Crazy heart” is not ground-breaking, but well-done and Jeff Bridges performance deserved the Oscar.
Limbo in a Screensaver: “The Lovely Bones”
Peter Jackson’s “The Lovely Bones” is visually rich but absurd.
